Welcome to the website of Karol Marshall, PhD, ABPP. I have developed this website to provide some background information to help you determine whether and how I might be a helpful resource for you.

My 30 years of experience allow me to provide a variety of psychological and counseling services, tailoring services to a wide range of specific situations. I value the opportunity to add my psychological expertise to your own skills and strategies. I will work together with you toward effectively sorting out the difficulties you may be facing.

 I have been a practicing psychologist in the Seattle area since 1976, specializing in:

• Helping people with life challenges related to loss and mourning.
• Relationship issues, including building and maintaining relationships through the life cycle.
• Relational psychoanalysis, certified in psychoanalysis by the American Board of Professional Psychology
• Life changing challenges that come with the diagnosis and treatment of cancer.
• Same sex relationships, cross and inter-gender relationships, gender transitions, and the complications of non-biological parenting and family building. 

I am a preferred provider for most Regence and Premera insurance programs.

It is my usual practice to suggest that we initially meet a couple of times in consultation, considering what psychological or other resources may be most helpful for you at this time. At the end of those consultation sessions I will talk with you about my impressions, what I think and how I would be able to be of help to you. I will also make suggestions about what other kinds of services I feel might be helpful to you at this time. Together we will develop a plan optimized for your situation.
